Early-career Award is presented for the exceptionally promising work to professionals in one academic field with 5 and fewer years of experience. ICMM Germany 2021 encourages and appreciates the workability of Early-career professionals by presenting an Edgar Sengier Award.
Edgar Sengier was a Belgian businessman and director of the Union Miniere du Haut Katanga mining company. Born in Kortrijk, Sengier graduated as a mining engineer from the University of Leuven and joined the Union Miniere du Haut Katanga (UMHK) in 1911 as it was beginning to exploit mines in the province of Katanga in the Belgian Congo. The UMHK was owned jointly by the Societe General de Belgium, a Belgian monopolist investment company, and the government of the Belgian Congo. The Society’s activity was, among other things, to mine copper deposits in Katanga.
Edgar Sengier Awardee will be given Memento, Certificate and 30% discount on the registration fee for the upcoming conference as a token of appreciation.
Eligibility: Should be registered before the Award deadline for ICMM Germany 2021.
Selection Criteria: Should have less than 5 years of experience in one field and based on Research works, Conferences attended and other awards.
